This open-heart watch by Seiko complete
with display caseback—offers a peek from two different perspectives at the 4R39A automatic movement.
Vibrating at 21,600 beats per hour,
this 24-jewel movement is capable of hacking and hand-winding.
Overlapping the open heart is a 24-hour subdial,
positioned at 10 o’clock,
which is outlined in silver and adorned with Arabic numerals in intervals of two.
In contrast to the Arabic numerals,
Roman numerals mark each hour on the main dial,
while second and quarter-second stick markers sit between each numeral.
The watch is also fitted with feuilles hands,
with the seconds hand featuring a crescent moon counterweight.
